This summer Madeline interned at The AFRO Newspapers and is proud to have reported for a Black press. She was able to collaborate and make connections with an amazing team of interns. She strengthened her skills as a writer and reporter exploring coverage on the election, mental health awareness and reproductive freedom.
This summer Isaiah interned at Education Week, where he wrote on policies and efforts surrounding K-12 education. He made numerous connections and is looking forward to bringing his experience and knowledge to MABJ as well as further endeavors in his career!
This summer Nina interned for Baltimore Witness. She attended court hearings regarding non-fatal shootings and murder charges to write articles and collect data for Baltimore City. She helped create awareness and transparency on crime in the area and strengthened her reporting skills.

Over the summer, Jade used the opportunity to jog her creative writing outlets. She has been working on completing a poetry memoir for the past two summers, and used a lot of her time to add on to that exciting project. She also spent time traveling, spending valuable moments with family and friends, as well as some growth time with herself.
